Lotte
Work wise it has been a strange year with some anticipated projects (medical registries) being put on hold and annual conferences and workshops being cancelled and replaced by Zoom meetings where possible. We have effectively run a virtual business for many years so are all used to working from home although Lotte does also rent a desk in Crumpled Dog's offices in Shoreditch
Just before lockdown started Lotte decided to leave her 1st floor flat in London and decamp to Sandycot where she took up residence for four months in the annex. Mike moved out of his office so she was self sufficient and only needed to come into the house for a shower! Most meals were taken in the courtyard during the hot weather and spare time was taken up with helping in the vegetable garden, decluttering the garage (still needing to be finished!), reading books in her hammock chair, going for long walks and doing jigsaws.
Her group of friends managed to fit in their annual week in Turkey before travel restrictions were imposed but visits to Denmark were cancelled.
A project that kept her busy outside of work was Candid Contributions - a fortnightly podcast where "four experienced developers talk all things open source - from code contributions to conference attendance; we aim to cover all aspects of life as an active member of an open-source community." To listen to their podcasts log onto https://candidcontributions.com. They organised a conference for Umbraco users over Zoom that ran for two days with participants joining from the UK, Europe, South Africa, USA and Australia.
After her four month stay Lotte returned to her flat and is now in a 'bubble' with her downstairs neighbours. We hope she will be able to rejoin us at Sandycot for Christmas.
